Homeco Insulation, along with our material partner, APi Distribution, were honored to sponsor an “Inflatable Obstacle Course” at the MSA & AGC 2nd Annual Tickets for the Troops. This fundraiser donated tickets for a Saints Baseball game to Military Veterans and their families. Last year, enough money was raised to purchase 1,136 tickets to the Minnesota Twins game and this year 2,000 tickets were given to Military families along with a tailgating party including food, games, $1 beers, and giveaways for the troops and their families.
John Hansen was presented with a “Course Attendance Certificate” from the Air Barrier Association of America (ABAA) for attending the Self Adhered and Fluid Applied Air Barrier Training Program. We are happy to announce that John has passed the certification test and, in the near future, will become a Level 3 Certified Installer of Self Adhered and Fluid Applied Air Barrier Assemblies.
We are excited to announce that Josh was presented a Certificate of Completion for the Foam Mechanics/Materials Course through BASF Corporation’s Technology Training Centers (TTC). This training focused on the mechanics of the spray foam machines as well as the application of spray polyurethane foam to ensure the highest quality installation of BASF foam products.
This includes 10% of the cost of materials up to $500 for Homeowners! In fact, the newly approved bill makes insulation purchases in 2012 also eligible. For Builders, the bill includes a provision to extend the $2,000 tax credit for building energy efficient homes pursuant to the 2006 IECC. Read more...

Homeco Insulation sponsored the American Subcontractor Association (now known as the Minnesota Subcontractor Association) golf tournament. The tournament raises funds for students pursuing post high school education at college, technical or trade schools in construction related fields such as skilled trades, engineering, architecture, and construction management. Since the program’s inception, the ASA-MN has awarded over $25,500 in scholarships!

Homeco and R&J hosted their annual Employee Appreciation Fishing Event at Twin Pines Fishing Charters on Lake Mille Lacs. Prizes were awarded to those with the largest walleye (Joe), smallest (Donnie), and most (Dan). Fishing was a little slow but that didn’t stop these die-hard fishermen from having a great time.

Homeco Insulation celebrated 15 years of valuable service with Donnie Stevens. As many of you know, Donnie is an expert in the field of insulation whether it is spray foam, batt, or blown insulation. He has successfully managed numerous projects over the past fifteen years in various sizes from single-family homes to the TCF Bank Stadium and Target Field. Donnie is an essential part of the Homeco Team and he brings the type of management skill that is second to none.
As of April 22, 2010, anyone who conducts renovations, repairs, or painting in pre-1978 or child-occupied facilities must get certified. In addition to personal certification, there is also the requirement of getting your firm registered with EPA in order to ensure that you are not at risk to receive up to $37,500 in fines per day!
